Imran Asif is an accomplished researcher and Senior Research Software Engineer with expertise in Semantic Web, Knowledge Graphs, and Digital Humanities. Imran undertook MPhil research in Semantic Web Versioning, and holds a PhD for research on Semantic Publishing, which involves publishing data, content, and resources in a machine-understandable format.
Currently, Imran serves as a Senior Research Software Engineer at Oxford's Centre for the Study of Ancient Documents (CSAD). Imran is actively involved in the FAIR-Epigraphy project, which aims to provide access to FAIR and linked open data for epigraphy. With a wide range of research interests, Imran specialises in semantic web tools, linked data, knowledge visualization, knowledge management, knowledge integration, knowledge extraction, knowledge graphs, and semantic publishing, including nanopublications and research objects. Imran possess extensive technical expertise including experience with .NET Framework, Java, PHP, Python, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, and database development, and has a strong command of semantic web technologies such as RDF/Linked Data, JSON or JSON-LD, SPARQL, and TripleStores.
